Glenn Pierce (Chairman)

Mr. Pierce is the co-founder and board chair of South Florida Autism Charter Schools and co-founder of the National Accelerator of Autism Charter Schools. Recently retired, Glenn led teams at Turner Impact Capital and Pacific Charter School Development in the building of more  than 200 schools serving 87,000 students in 15 states and the District of Columbia during his 28-year career in the charter school movement. This followed management roles with Citibank and PepsiCo. He holds an AB in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the Broad Superintendents Academy and the proud parent of a young adult with autism.

Lawrence D. Popritkin (Chairman)

Lawrence Popritkin is the principal at the Law Offices of Lawrence D. Popritkin, P.A. a Florida Law Firm comprised of a committed group dedicated to serving its clients with an integrated array of professional services. The law firm prides itself in implementing a legal approach that shuns the bureaucracy often associated with larger firms and emphasizes effective, cost-efficient, representation. Their practice areas include all aspects of Insurance Defense (with an emphasis on Auto, Bad Faith, Bodily Injury, Coverage, First Party Property, General Liability, and Personal Injury Protection Claims), as well as General Liability, Contracts Law, Landlord Tenant, American Disability Act, and Errors & Omissions. Mr. Popritkin graduated from Florida International University in 1993 with a Political Science Major Degree and a Minor in Philosophy. In 1997, Mr. Popritkin graduated Nova Southeastern University School of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar later that year. In 2004, as a 7th year lawyer, Mr. Popritkin opened his own Law Firm, currently located in Coral Springs, Florida. Mr. Popritkin has been litigating on behalf of his clients since 1997 and regularly lectures to insurance carriers and private clients in numerous insurance related matters, with a specialty in first party insurance defense techniques, fee hearings techniques and avoidance of regular business practices that could lead to bad faith liability. Currently, Mr. Popritkin is admitted to the Florida Bar; U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida; U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida; and the District of Columbia. Mr. Popritkin has been married to Brenda (Fernandez) Popritkin, whom he met at FIU, for 15 years. His entire wedding court was composed of brothers from Sigma Phi Epsilon. The couple has two sons, Dylan Kai (13yrs old) and Oliver Quinn (6yrs old). When not working, Mr. Popritkin is a fierce Autism Advocate. His love for Obstacle Course Racing, the Miami Heat, Pittsburgh Steelers, and his Cabernet Sauvignon’s is almost as fierce.

Robert Cambo

Mr. Cambo is the CEO of Alliance Companies, a private real estate development company based in Coconut Grove, which has built four (4) charter school campuses serving 4,000 students over the last four (4) years. In addition, he has developed over 1 million square feet of commercial space since 1994. Mr Cambo is a graduate of Harvard University’s Real Estate Leadership program in 2006 and earned his MBA from the University of Miami in 1989. Mr. Cambo is very active in the autism community and a Silver Sponsor of Autism Speaks and UM/NSU CARD. He is also the parent of a child with autism.

Susan Kassab (Secretary)

Susan Kassab is a private business owner. Nemaro Jewelers is located in Miami, Florida and has been in business for 23 years. She is a member of the Ray of Hope Gala committee and the mother of a 17-year-old, Steven, who attends the SFACS High School Program.

Elisa Suarez, D.D.S. (Vice Chair)

Dr. Elisa Suarez is a general and cosmetic dentist who practices in Plantation, Fl. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1994 with her Doctorate in Dental Surgery, she continued her studies as a resident working at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the Miami VA and Miami Children’s Hospital where she received intensive training in advanced dental procedures and surgery. She has dedicated her career to bringing healthy and beautiful smiles to her community. Dr. Suarez has been an active member of our SFACS PTSO, serving as the fundraiser coordinator from 2009-2014, and as SFACS PTSO Vice President from 2015-2017. Elisa is married to her high school sweetheart, Alex. They have 2 children. Elexa, who is attending the University of Florida and Nicholas, who is a student at SFACS, and attends our Postgraduate Program.

Michael C. Marsh (Treasurer)

Mr. Marsh is a partner at Akerman Senterfit and concentrates his practice in commercial lawsuits, including securities and other class action defense, counting fraud, Ponzi schemes, D&O liability, professional liability, shareholder disputes, and corporate transactions. Michael’s practice also focuses on corporate governance and compliance issues, including matters arising from federal and state agencies investigations. Drawing on more than 20 years of business litigation experience, Michael has provided strategic and other advice to clients on issues relating to day-to-day operations, major restructuring, and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
